Some drown their sorrows with wine
Some drown their sorrows with drugs
Some drown their sorrows with party
Resolute to numb their feelings and senses
Feelings of deprivation
Feelings of desperation
Feelings of depression
Feelings of driven to the corner
Attempting to ignore such feelings
Sense of no purpose
Sense of unworthiness
Sense of emptiness
Sense of helplessness
Seeking to numb these senses
Causing hearts’ cry of sorrows
Sorrows to pour out
Pour out to a channel
Return to Your Maker
Seek Him
He is waiting
Waiting with an opened hands
Waiting to embrace you
Waiting for your return
Just like a hen wants to gather her chicks
He is God’s beloved Son
He is the Lord
He is Jesus Christ
He is the Saviour.

“Some drown their sorrows” and “Some to numbness” echoed in my mind while brushing my teeth after lunch. Everything stopped coming whenever I returned to it. Until Monday, the remaining flows out after my devotional. And suddenly the analogy of God’s love from Luke 13:34-35 resonates in my heart.
