James knew his readers needed patience. They were facing persecution because of their faith. In Part 1, we saw two examples of patient endurance he gave: the farmer and the prophets. Today, we will look at the third example he gave.
Job (James 5:11)
As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
You and I cannot persevere unless there is a trial in our life. There can be no victories without battles; there can be no peaks without valleys. If we want the blessing, we must be prepared to carry the burden and fight the battle.
