As I was thinking of my lackness, I realized it is my husband’s strong point. His weakness is my strength. When I am bullied through words, my husband protects me with his words. I often lose words during confrontation. Thanks for reading my poetry and hope this poetry minister and bless you.

Stench

Posted on

An unexplainable, inexpressible terrible stench
Pinches my nose deep to the core
My nostril follows the stench
Finally it tracks down the root cause
Of the stench’s real whereabout.

The stench is coming from
My toddler who is in deep sleep
Oh, he defecates while asleep.
Oh, the stench is indeed so unbearable
My nose is hurting inside
Immediately, take action to clean him thoroughly
And the smell slowly diminishes.

Sins and trespassing are also giving the people a terrible stench of death. It is liken to the above haiku. There is a need of the grace of God through Jesus Christ, the Saviour of our soul to clean our hearts, minds, and motivations of our actions. Through His blood we receive the cleansing of our soul. (Romans 5:13-15; 6:11-13)

As I opened my room door, the terrible stench pained my nostrils. Then I realized the smell came from my sleeping toddler and I immediately clean him and change his diaper. As I was changing his diaper, “An unexplainable terrible stench” ringed in my mind. As I calmed down on my bed, I penned down my visualization of my feelings. Today is finalization of the above inspired haiku.

Hooked

Being hooked into a story
No matter it is movie, novel, comic
Hard to break it away
Unwilling to put it down especially during
Its most intriguing intense moment
Various mixed feelings are going through inside
Joy, sadness, anger, pity, relief
As the story ends by flipping to
The last page or scene.

When will we be hooked?
Hooked into the Bible seeking Almighty God
Seeking Him and His face
In hearts, minds, and through our actions
Expressing our love to Him

Beginner Lomographer

Enthusiastic with the new camera
Without much thinking I point to the
Target subject and immediately shoot

A photo paper is gone
Shoot again, another paper is wasted again
Then it dawned upon me
I forget to remove the lens cover
The third piece is black
Realizing need to adjust the len’s setting
From pinhole to daylight setting
Oh no! More papers are wasted again
It is over-exposed, another under-exposed
Quite daunting for beginner lomography camera user
Perseverance will get good result.

For the first time to buy a lomography camera on 24 May and I immediately try it the next day. I lost 4 pieces of photo paper due to my mistake. I took the instructions of the lomography workshop too literally. The point is, “no need to think, just shoot”. In fact, I need to check before I shoot and read the instructions. Next day, I try it again and one picture was over-exposed, next was under-exposed.

How important it is to read the Bible to know more about God and ourselves, God’s instructions how to live in the world He has created to guide in how we should live upon receiving Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

Tingling

Posted on

Tingling, flutter, tingling again, flutter
Turning head to left, right, up, down
To find that tingling source

A bird flutters around with
Tingling sounds as it is flying from
Table to table and chairs

Strange to hear tingling sound
As that bird flutters around these premises
How come got such sound?

That bird captures my attention
My eyes scan through as it flutters
A sphere is at its leg

A little shiny silver bell
Is tied onto its side yellow leg
Mixed feelings toward that bird
It looks cute but also feel pity
For its plight with bell.

How many times does God need to capture our attentions through His beautiful creations and through difficult situations? (Genesis 1-2 and Hebrews 4:15-16)

Unity & Dependence

Remove the holders will cause
Pieces of paper to collapse onto ground

Scattered, showing the need for
Us to depend on Christ who is
The Source of life holder

Baby to Toddler

Loud Cry then keep still
Keep still as the gynae put beside
Beside the mother’s hospital mobile-bed
Congratulate the welcome of the newborn life
A joyous occasion for family.

As months passes by swiftly
Rattling the noisy toys with colourful pictures
Banging tables, pots and pans
Hugging, tugging, and pushing favourite soft toys
Poking its eyes, nose, mouth
Kissing it then throw it onto floor
Watching what will happen next.

Incomprehensible blabber trying to speak
In response to parents and express oneself
With limited sounds being produced

More patient guidance is essential
Holding hand how to point to express
Expression begins through pointing fingers

Through striving hard to listen
Single words come out of mouth
A new beginning for baby

As the body muscles strengthen
Slowly, one control movements through rolling bosy
Hands grab to stand up
Assisting him to walk step by step
Upon mastering that one step
One step leads to a few steps
Letting go of one’s hands

Delighted with own walking steps
Increasing more steps and soeed it up
Running, jumping exploring the house
Climbing the window bar to observe outdoors
Having fun and full of joy
To be in control of own’s bosy
Perseverance is the only way
To improve in order to grow up
By observing the adults’actions

Listen the words and try
To pronounce it numerous times with determination
Correct and re-correct until correct

As vocabulary grows then can
Form sentences by using different learnt words
Talks a lot and being
Deemed talkative because plentiful words of expression
With body gestures and actions
But always get a rebuke

Climbing onto chairs to explore
The objects on tables and touch it
Say pen then grab it
Spank lands onto toddler’s butt
Toddler treats it as nothing but parents
Do it for toddler’s good

Want to Sleep

My body is very fatigue
Of the numerous tasks completed in the day
Wanting to have a sleep
The ticking clock is indeed extremely loud
Numerous piercing ticks disturb me
It causes my sleepy brain to awake
More ticks irritate my nerves
It is reaching onto my brain nerves
I get frustrated and irritated.

It is a useless clock
Might as well don’t let the clock
Accompany me in my sleep.

I grab the clock
Open my drawer, throw the clock in
Close the drawer and sleep.

Finally, I feel at ease
Quietness in the dark room doze me
Off and my mind asleeps.

Sounds At Night

Posted on

Breathing sound from the toddler
Snoring from my spouse’s nostril and throat
Little hum from air conditioner
Rearing vehicles roaming outside the window pane
Chirping birds return to nests

Tick sound from the television
As it loosens its grip of contraction
Again the noise from sleepers
Gritting of teeth coming our from spouse
Springing from tossing on mattress
Gentle knock from his hands and legs
Followed by his farting and smelly

As I turn my head
Toddler’s hand knocks against the cot’s side
Awhile later, his feet hit
Then deep inhaling snore from his breathe
Tossing over the cot numerously

Impossible without having those sounds
So what can be done to sleep?
All I can think of
Is to close eyes, praying to God
After clock ticks for long
Slowly, I begin to see things with
Eyes closed having those sounds
Begin to fade away from my ears
Flying and drifting into dreamland

Destruction

Posted on

Dust particles in the air
Mud, A Grain of Sand, Stain, Dirt
Ashes, Sandy wind onto lenses

Tiny little dots of dirt
Scattering across the screen blocking our vision
Vision of our eyes’ lenses

A windy cloud of haze
Blocks our pathways to our supposed destination
When standing and wondering how
Where and which is the best path
For our feet to tread

Murkiness of sin etching deep
And crouching within hearts causing blindness of
Heart, Vision, Mind, Focus, Mission
Of our future lives so it affects
Our innermost motivations and plan
Leading actions affected by degrading moral values
Leading to one’s character destruction

Therefore, one may fall into
The traps that have been laid earlier
And ready to be preyed
To be preyed by the fallen angels
When sins and trespasses reach
To its final peak and to fruition
Awaiting destiny of own’s destruction

Like broken branches that are
Ready to be collected and burnt with fire
Agony souls crying in fire
Burnt with unquenchable fire and thirst water
But without drop of water

Playing Pointing Finger Game

Posted on

To play pointing finger game
Baby turns out to point to things
To express his curiosity and
To express his needs, feelings, and wants.

To play pointing finger game
Helps baby to understand and to get
To know himself and his
Surroundings, environments, objects better and also to
Point the location to go.

To play pointing finger game
Can solve his dilemma to express oneself
And to avoid frustration to
Express so reduces his cries and wailings.

Playing pointing finger game is
The best way to learn more of
His or her own body.

Inspiration On: Monday, 30 January 2012

When my baby was around eight months old, I played a pointing finger game with him. I grasped his hand and use his finger to point himself by singing his name, and then point to myself to identify, “mama” to him. He is so excited and chuckled. Now, my baby is nineteen months often getting near the buttons to touch it. So this reminded me of the consequence of sin mentioned in Numbers 5:30-31; 9:12-14; 18:21-23; 30:14-16; Ezekiel 16:57-59; 23:34-36,48-49; 44:9-13.Afterwards, he often points to the aircon to signal my parents to switch it on, and points to cats and dogs on the streets to know what is its names.

In the Old Testament and New Testament, there are lots of Scriptures mentioning sowing and reaping. So whatever is taught to a child, it will bear fruit in the child because all a child do is to observe and follow what is done before his eyes. This makes me realize the importance of my heart and performance as my child’s good example. And I have been pondering about it and pray to the Lord on high to seek His wisdom in guiding the precious child He blesses me with.

Think Before Suicide

Posted on

How often we contemplate suicide?
Feeling worthless, hopeless, helpless, angry, and depressed
Living in an urban society?

Standing on the rooftop pondering
Closing all door and window with gas
Gulping down plentiful sleeping pills
Slitting wrist with the sharp kitchen knife
Jumping onto the train tracks

Will suicide end your suffering?
Suicide marks the beginning of enormous sufferings
Torments of numerous endless suffering

Will suicide solve all problems?
Problems of debt, relationship, career, love.
NO! IT WON’T! DON’T COMMIT SUICIDE!

Suicide indicates running from problems
Suicide indicates immaturity and brings tears to
Someone who love you dearly

Imagine yourself in their shoes
How will you feel to lose them?
Will sadness grip your heart?

Why can’t we be responsible?
Responsible with our own lives to live
Our life to the fullest
Searching who is the Source of Life.

Do you see a Light
In your darkest path of your life?
Dash towards the brightest Light.

Toddler’s Life

Posted on

A pair of cute eyes
Are opened and awake in the morning
Breathing in the breezing air
Sensing the cooling fresh air which comes
From the waving trees saying,
“Good morning” to the cutie.

Gulping the tasty white milk
From the milk bottle then sip water
Change clothes and it is

The time to play toys
And grasping curious objects around the surroundings
Until it is lunch time.

Hungrily munching porridge swiftly while
Enjoying every taste of vegetables and meat
Which is blended in porridge.

Waiting half an hour later
It is shower time to
Enjoy the warm bath to look sparkling
Then the next step is…

It is play time again
Then it is the time for the
Pair of adorable eyes to
Keep on blinking continuously and eyelids close
For nap time during noonday.

A pair of cute eyes
Are widely opened again gulping for food
And baby’s play time again.

As the sun goes down
The sky is all in black with
Stars shining in the sky
It is indeed a fun busy day
For baby who is blinking
To get ready to sleep and fall asleep.
and the cycle continues.

A fun busy day for
Baby to blink continuously and eyelids close.
And the cycle continues.

Playing Button

Posted on

Playing switch on off button
Switching light on then off and repeat
It again in order to
Amaze and soothe his or her cries
But it will lead the
Baby to turn out to take pleasure
In touching buttons without knowing
Its electrical danger upon oneself

Running around the house to
Play power switch buttons at the surroundings
Wherever baby can find at
His sight, without realizing its danger implication

Whenever remove baby from touching
Baby will be irritated, annoyed, infuriated, and
Smoke emerged out from head
He or she is fumed with anger!
From sob turns to weeping
From weeping to wailing then to shriek
And finally to shouting in
order to get his or
her way even though to no avail
Hence, history repeats itself daily.

Portrait is made visible due to the invisible electric current and the camera taker. Without it, a photo will not be produced. This creation is made visible due to the Words spoken by the Invisible God, who is not visible to our eyes. (Genesis 1)

The above inspiration comes as I kept on gazing onto the photo I have taken and was enclosed with a frame by my mother-in-law. She told me that actually she wanted to place a photo of my husband and I with our baby in a photo frame, but she couldn’t find me in my baby’s photos so my husband with his son are in the photo frame. I don’t mind. As I stared at the photo that I have taken satisfactorily, suddenly the above paragraph came to me then the haiku is birthed.
