BP

No broken promises from our Lord Jesus Christ
As we continue to hope in Him
Awaiting for Jesus’ second coming
Steadfast in our faith in Jesus

While reflecting on my four years of marriage, I have been keeping the promise my husband forced me to keep. Not to find jobs as counter staff, waitress, and even low pay jobs. Office jobs are allowed. He feels that I should work in the office because I studied until bachelor honours. Ten months of marriage, our baby boy arrives to this world. He asked me to stay as housewife for three months. Months passed to four years. The promise he made before marriage almost annulled due to my mother in law’s interference. Thank God for Him to protect the promise he made.

Upon returning to this again, I remembered God’s promises through the Bible; trust in His salvation and for waiting for His second coming.

When he gave me two options to care our son, it is all to his advantage. It’s like promises are broken. Heartache. It is like checkmate on the chessboard. When I reverse the two last words “broken promises”, BP is produced.

Aid

Seeking rescue from Someone and others
In spiritual and physical needs
During our difficult times

Do we have such experience from God and others? Are we thankful?
I do experience it and my heart is filled with gratitude
To my Lord and the people who have helped me during my difficult times
Even now also experience it in reality and in blogging.

Psalm 51:17 (KJV)
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Psalm 51:17 (NIV)
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart You, God, will not despise.

“Lonely in the dark” suddenly came to me when I was going to shower. As I rephrase it, “Aid in the Dark” acronym is more suitable. This is because we need help in our darkest moment phase of life.

Solitude & Silence

Posted on

In solitude
I find rest
From the noisy world

In solitude
I withdraw from the world
Entering into my own world

In silence
I cried of my contrite heart

In silence
I prayed to my Lord for comfort

In solitude
I heard a small still Voice

In silence
I regain my strength in my Lord Jesus
I find my voice

In solitude and silence
I commune with my Lord
My heart is ready to enter the world.

This began with, “in solitude” that slowly reminded me of Psalms and Elijah as described the book of Samuel.

Ego

Ego

Ego

Is ego or pride stopping us from reaching out to God?
Is ego or pride blinding us to the Truth?
Is ego or pride covering our eyes to see the world’s brokenness?
Is ego or pride covering our eyes to see our own frailty?
Is ego or pride preventing us from reflecting upon our motivations?
So can’t we push our ego aside?

In dictionary, ego means
1. the “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, and willing, and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought.
2. Psychoanalysis . the part of the psychic apparatus that experiences and reacts to the outside world and thus mediates between the primitive drives of the id and the demands of the social and physical environment.
3. egotism; conceit; self-importance: Her ego becomes more unbearable each day.
4. self-esteem or self-image; feelings: Your criticism wounded his ego.
5. (often initial capital letter) Philosophy

  • the enduring and conscious element that knows experience.
  • Scholasticism. the complete person comprising both body and soul.

Albert Einstein did mention,
“More the knowledge
Lesser the ego,
Lesser the knowledge
More the Ego”

Basically, ego means “I” is more important and what is inside will come out. Some people will tend to praise themselves and look down upon people by finding their faults. Until to the point that I can’t stand them and telling a friend to try to look at people’s goodness side. Nobody is perfect.

BRAKE!

Posted on

BRAKE! No accident.
Likewise in relationship.
Control our tongues
Stop hurting words
Quarrel is prevented
Preventing hurting hearts
Preventing escalating violence
Preventing broken homes

Promoting peaceful atmosphere
Providing safety dwellings
To the young
To the adolescents
To the adult
To the mid-aged
To the old

When conflict arises
Press the BRAKE.

When both parties
Clap hands to
Apply self control
In the strength
From Christ Jesus
Through Holy Spirit
Instill in hearts

Peace, love, and
Social order reign.

On my way home from purchasing groceries, my bicycle almost hit another biker who dashed out of a lane, but both of us pressed the brake. Suddenly, the above inspirations were birthed out and later on revise it again.

Philippians 4:13 sparked the inspiration for third paragraph.

To Or Not To

Posted on

To spend or not to spend
To have or not to have
To think or not to think
To fight or not to fight
To overcome or not to overcome
To fly or not to fly
To jump or not to jump
To believe or not to believe my eyes and ears.

To spend our money or to save it
To have children or not to have
To think about our problems or not to think about it
To fight back to keep marriage intact or let it broken
To overcome our own darkest moments or not to do so
To board an airplane or not fearful of accident
To jump out of the wrecked ship or remain in it
To believe or not to believe the words we hear and the events we see with our eyes.

These are the questions and doubts
Which keep us in a dilemma?

No matter what happens
Let us overcome our obstacles in life
Praying to our Abba Father for wisdom and guidance
And to do what is right in His sight.
In His Son’s most beloved Name above all names.

Revised On: Thursday, 23 February 2012 at 1:14am

The above inspiration came as I was considering to buy USB fan at Challenger due to my fan was moved away by my husband for my toddler’s safety sake. As I pondered about this, many people are going through times

  1. Whether to spend their money
  2. Whether to have children
  3. Whether to solve their problems
  4. Whether to keep their marriage successful

This is because we are living in an imperfect world. So we can only seek God and seek His help.

Society Values

Is freedom good for the youngsters?
Saturday, 1 January 2011

Refer: Exodus 4:5-10;5:28-30;6:6-8 (KJV)

When a teenager turns to 21 year old, they are considered adult and can make his/her own decisions. I observe that nowadays the society has changed a lot from olden days.

Olden days value the sanctity of marriage and a responsible living. This also teaches the younger generation to be more responsible in their actions and decisions. No abortion. Children are being valued as a gift. Children honour and obey their parents. The grown up children provide and take good care of their old parents.

Current society starts to allow dating couple to stay together and have intimate relationship outside married. They choose not to live with their parents. All they want is to break free from the authority figures. It is regarded independent of their parents. Not just that, they feel that they can do whatever they want. No one can restrict them. This may seem trivial to most people, but it may not be the case. Virginity is not being valued anymore. This also teaches people to be irresponsible in their marriage life and take it as a game. Divorces rate are increasing. That is why there are so many broken families. Children are hurt. More of them are abandoned. Abortion is accepted. Some mothers even murder their newly born babies. Not just that, more elderly home. Old parents are abandoned by their grown up child. The grown up child only thinks for themselves, instead of caring the old.

What is the society turning into?

In Deuteronomy 5:29 “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” speaks about God’s heart. The reason of His commandments is meant for the well-being of ourselves and our future generations. Our authoritative figure who knows what is right and wrong may rebuke us when we are children, but it is meant for our own good. During young times, we feel restricted in what we do, but it is meant for our own good.

What I mean is not all conservative traditions are correct such as being superstitious. But their values about living, marriage, and commitment are good for us.

The best guidance for our lives can be found in God’s Word.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for letting me to grow up in a conservative family. I’m thankful for my parents to guide me with their value system. This shapes my value system and the decisions that I make. As I think back of my parents’ disciplines, now I’m thankful for it.
