Ripe

Drip!
Bird’s pie drops
Onto the floor
In front of me

Drip!
Bird’s pie drops
Onto my
Transparent umbrella

Drop!
A ripe fruit
Drops but Hits
Onto my head
End its destination
On the pedestrian footpath

Life is full of
Unpredictable events
For us to
Decide and Choose
Either Good or Bad fertilizers
Insert into our
Lives
Insert into our
Innermost minds and hearts

Creeping inside before it is
Ripe and blooms
Beware the root grows inside

Problems often occur among people. This produced PIP acronym. According to Oxford Learner’s dictionary, pip means (1) The small hard seed that is found in some types of fruit (2) A series of short high sounds, especially those used when giving the exact time on the radio. The synonyms of pip are seed, stone, pit. The free dictionary defines pip as the stone of soft fruits such as peaches and plums. Thanks for reading my poetry and hope this poetry minister and bless you.

Upon understanding and pondering the meaning of Pip, it takes six days to birth the poetry out. Using devour word will give a much greater impact compared to swallow. Kick is a stronger words rather than leave. God bless you all for reading my poetry to minister.

Sow to Reap

Selfishness blind the hearts
Selfishness blind the minds
Full of self seeking
Without realizing
Greed, Hatred, Pride, Self justification grip the eyes
Nothing else satiates one’s void heart
These causing oneself
Groping in darkness
Sowing evil seeds
Evil ones torment oneself
Wicked living
Living in hell of conscience
Reaping unquenchable fire

Fear of the Lord open the hearts
Fear of the Lord open the minds
Full of caring others
Without realizing
Love, Care, Concern, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, Longsuffering,
Gentleness, Patience, Joy, Understanding, and Self Control grip the eyes
Nothing else satiates one’s full heart
These causing oneself
Brisk in the light
Sowing good seeds
Basking in God’s love
Righteous living
Living in paradise of conscience
Reaping heavenly rewards

Open your eyes
Which one is the best?
Choose what is best
What is your preference?
Any decision made?

Being in the bathroom is my favourite part of the day. It is when ideas and inspirations pop out such as images of poetry and stories. This time, “Groping in darkness Or Brisk in the light” popped out. Words flowed out upon revisiting it for two days being reminded of Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV), “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Lot

Lot

Choosing the rich land full of wealth
Following own eyesight and intuitive
To choose the land with his uncle Abraham
But torture his daily conscience
And loses everything when the Lord destroyed
Only unscathed life under his uncle’s intercession
Staying in a different land with his two daughters

Suddenly, “Lack of Trust” produced the acronym of Lot and reminded me of Abraham’s nephew.

Quantity or Quality

Quantity is better or quality?
Some choose quantity
Some choose quality
Either quantity or quality?

Quantity product lacks quality
Lesser cost price
Lesser selling price

Quality product lacks quantity
Higher cost price
Higher selling price

Quantity works lack quality
Cheaper price to attain
More profit

Quality works lack quantity
Expensive price but leading to
Lower profit

Quantity practice increases
Quality artworks soar.

Quantity failure increases
Quality experience.

Quantity endurance
Quality of character enters

Quantity dependence upon our Lord Jesus Christ
Quality of the fruits of the Holy Spirit enters then emerge

Quantity first or Quality first?
Which one comes first?
Is it the best?
How do you see quantity or quality?
What is the quantity of experiences mold us?
Who is our quality time?
When will quality be seen in us?

Long-Term & Lifelong

When something seems too good to be true
Think and Analyse of its long-term consequences
There is bound to long-term sacrifice and pain
Towards the affected people, instigated ones and instigators
Or bound to long-term joy and peace
Or bound to lifelong guilt

Feel!

How fragile is a child’s heart
Just a minor action will affect that child’s lifelong psychologically
Either lifelong beautiful memories or lifelong unrepairable wounds.

Choose!
Choose after you think!
Think as you choose!
Think before you reach to a decision!

How many times adults make excuses to justify their actions?
And let it happen to the innocent born child
Is it the right way to do so?

Think!
Analyze!
Feel!
Choose!
Decide!

Don’t let the history to repeat itself!

With phrases rang in my mind upon seeing my sister’s photo, “When something seems too be true”, my heart feels apologetic towards her.

My grandmother and uncles from dad’s side instigated him to let my sister to study and stay i good n Singapore. My mother was reluctant about it and my grandmother (mother’s) spoke that it is the best for a child to stay with own parents. My mother respected my father’s decision and think about my sister’s good education since my uncles have Singapore PR.

Upon giving birth to me, my grandmother wanted my parents to give it to my father’s third elder brother who cannot conceive. My mother was reluctant and dejected. But my third aunt chose my four-years old sister because she was easier to take care rather than me. How hers and my destiny are swapped. Adoption letter was made and my sister receives Singapore PR.

During secondary school, my sister indirectly told mother that she wants to return to hometown, but my mother didn’t get it and replied for her to stay and further her education. My mother was concerned my sister would not be able to adjust to the syllabus at hometown. Misunderstanding occurred. The reason my sister wanted to return to hometown was due to ostracise and bully from third aunt, her cousins. To make it worse, she was forced by grandmother to study all the time. Sense of abandonment and rejection crept into her soul and it lasted until now. Why would my parents leave her alone?

My third aunt was jealous of my mother for being able to conceive. So my sister became the victim of abuse though my parents were paying her school fees. She kept quiet at the abuse, but the helper could not stand it and instructed her to quickly eat more while my aunt was not at the kitchen. Report came to my parents and I heard it during my primary years. Upon reaching my secondary school, my parents began to share about those. My sister confided that those years she continuously watched the white blank wall. I felt pity and hope to accompany her.

To everyone’s surprise, my sister entered Polytechnic then to university and with a bachelor degree. Back then, everyone felt her grades were hopeless. I am graduated very happy that she can succeed.

But the scar of abandonment was there and erupted before her marriage ceremony. My parents and my sister had heated argument about the seating arrangement. Blame for not informing my dad about the seating arrangement fell upon my mother who was forgetful due to the need to handle household. But my sister didn’t think so. She thought that mother purposefully didn’t inform my dad. I have been trying to remove the misunderstanding between them.

Two years later, my sister conceived to a baby girl and had a one month confinement period. She questioned mother for not letting her return to hometown again then explained the words she told before. Mother felt that she need to speak about her feelings and needs directly.

Though now their relationship are good, my mother regretted and is fearful now to pass the adoption letter to my sister after arranged her documents nicely into a file. She is afraid of the erupting fire from my sister. Upon seeing the letter, I have been wondering how to explain to my beloved sister. It is a very painful process for both my mother and sister. And I am praying for God’s intervention and what should I do. I am caught in the middle.

Cinema & TV

Just depending on the movie review
Oh we are
Like sheep being led to a cinema hall
Not knowing how the story goes
How funny the story is
How tragic the story is
How frightful the story is
How obscene the story is
How many messages the visual story conveys.
Different people interpret differently
Different people receive different messages.

How important it is to filter which movie to watch
How essential it is to determine the beneficial of watching
How influential watching the movie we choose
Though permissible, but not beneficial

Choose and decide.
The choice is ours.

Upon observation how the movie reviews are written and my husband’s dependence upon it to determine which one to watch and how curious I am before to go to the cinema alone during my teens, especially the horror movie “The Ring” to check out how scary is the visual story. This is because a lot of people commented it is a very frightful movie. That time was before I receive Christ. And I enjoyed watching horror movies and often got nightmare. Upon receiving Christ, a brother in Christ kindly questioned me, “Why do you want to scare yourself?” Those words stick in my mind for quite long and finally I choose and decide not to watch.

Upon fasting and avoiding horror movies, nightmare full of scary things and beings slowly diminish. Now, I don’t enjoy watching such movies. Upon reminiscing such things, I praise God and thankful for that brother in Christ. This reminds me of the Apostle Paul mentioning that everything is permissible, but not beneficial (1 Corinthians 6:11-13 and 1 Corinthians 10:22-24).

The reason I’m using sheep as an analogy is inspired from Isaiah 53:5-7 and its characteristics. Humans’ similarity towards it that is susceptible to danger especially spiritual and physical danger. We need a shepherd to guide us. That Shepherd is Christ.
