Consequences of Actions

Piles of wood circling a tent
Flames burn on the piles of wood
A tent is circled by flames
Camping in the middle of the forest
Wild animals keep away from them

Ten ladies sleep in the tent peacefully
Exhausted with their retreat
Retreat in having quiet time
As their tent lean against a large sturdy tree

Alas, there is a hole on top of the tent
An undaunted slender young cobra
Hops from trees to trees with its tail
Targeting the tree where the tree is
Swinging its body in triumph
Then it abruptly drops itself into the tent’s hole

Thump!
It falls onto a lady’s face with its stuck out tongue
Waken
That light sleeper lady
Shrieks sharply in fear

Everyone wakes up
A brave fighter lady
Grabs the young cobra’s head
Sandwich cobra’s head
To prevent it from opening its jaw
Others cooperate and grab its body to tail
Leaving the fearful stoned light sleeper lady
They left the tent

In the count to three
They throw the poor snake
Into the hot burning flames
Rushing back into the tent
Sterilizing their hands from bacteria
Regaining their peace
Soothing the frightened frozen lady

In the hot burning tall flames
The poor young cobra
Cries and regretting for being
Too curious
Too haughty
As it turns to ashes instantly
As its friends watch in horror
Fearful of such predicament
Regretting their actions for
Sneering the poor young cobra

The young cobras return home
Confessing their sins to their parents
Their parents seek the poor young cobra’s parents
Seeking their forgiveness

The cobras’ parents resent them
Kick them out of the nest
Sobbing of their beloved two years old young cobra’s predicament
They left with disappointed looks
Return to their nests and discipline their young cobras

This story played in my imagination supposedly to be humour. Unexpectedly, the story continues to concentrate upon the cobra unravelling its reason to do so. Then I realised that the poor young cobra signifies the folly of youth and the bullying happen during schooldays. Pride causes downfall.

Rod

Rod is used to rebuke the wayward behaviour of children to wake them
Out of their own blindness that is
Dangerous to themselves and others.

Redeem the naive children
Out of the
Dangerous pitfall of sins that leads to death.

Discipline is needed to produce
The Fruits of Patience.

Galatians 5:22-24 (NLT)
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.

Normally, PhD stands for ‘Doctor of Philosophy’ and some people define it as ‘Permanent Head Damage’ due to exposing brains to study a lot.

Baby to Toddler

Loud Cry then keep still
Keep still as the gynae put beside
Beside the mother’s hospital mobile-bed
Congratulate the welcome of the newborn life
A joyous occasion for family.

As months passes by swiftly
Rattling the noisy toys with colourful pictures
Banging tables, pots and pans
Hugging, tugging, and pushing favourite soft toys
Poking its eyes, nose, mouth
Kissing it then throw it onto floor
Watching what will happen next.

Incomprehensible blabber trying to speak
In response to parents and express oneself
With limited sounds being produced

More patient guidance is essential
Holding hand how to point to express
Expression begins through pointing fingers

Through striving hard to listen
Single words come out of mouth
A new beginning for baby

As the body muscles strengthen
Slowly, one control movements through rolling bosy
Hands grab to stand up
Assisting him to walk step by step
Upon mastering that one step
One step leads to a few steps
Letting go of one’s hands

Delighted with own walking steps
Increasing more steps and soeed it up
Running, jumping exploring the house
Climbing the window bar to observe outdoors
Having fun and full of joy
To be in control of own’s bosy
Perseverance is the only way
To improve in order to grow up
By observing the adults’actions

Listen the words and try
To pronounce it numerous times with determination
Correct and re-correct until correct

As vocabulary grows then can
Form sentences by using different learnt words
Talks a lot and being
Deemed talkative because plentiful words of expression
With body gestures and actions
But always get a rebuke

Climbing onto chairs to explore
The objects on tables and touch it
Say pen then grab it
Spank lands onto toddler’s butt
Toddler treats it as nothing but parents
Do it for toddler’s good

How many times do we resent our parents’ discipline for our own good? God has mentioned the ways to please Him and for Israelites own good, but they received the consequences of their own actions, which was disobedience. See the book of Deuteronomy chapter 12 verse 27 to 29.

Society Values

Is freedom good for the youngsters?
Saturday, 1 January 2011

Refer: Exodus 4:5-10;5:28-30;6:6-8 (KJV)

When a teenager turns to 21 year old, they are considered adult and can make his/her own decisions. I observe that nowadays the society has changed a lot from olden days.

Olden days value the sanctity of marriage and a responsible living. This also teaches the younger generation to be more responsible in their actions and decisions. No abortion. Children are being valued as a gift. Children honour and obey their parents. The grown up children provide and take good care of their old parents.

Current society starts to allow dating couple to stay together and have intimate relationship outside married. They choose not to live with their parents. All they want is to break free from the authority figures. It is regarded independent of their parents. Not just that, they feel that they can do whatever they want. No one can restrict them. This may seem trivial to most people, but it may not be the case. Virginity is not being valued anymore. This also teaches people to be irresponsible in their marriage life and take it as a game. Divorces rate are increasing. That is why there are so many broken families. Children are hurt. More of them are abandoned. Abortion is accepted. Some mothers even murder their newly born babies. Not just that, more elderly home. Old parents are abandoned by their grown up child. The grown up child only thinks for themselves, instead of caring the old.

What is the society turning into?

In Deuteronomy 5:29 “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” speaks about God’s heart. The reason of His commandments is meant for the well-being of ourselves and our future generations. Our authoritative figure who knows what is right and wrong may rebuke us when we are children, but it is meant for our own good. During young times, we feel restricted in what we do, but it is meant for our own good.

What I mean is not all conservative traditions are correct such as being superstitious. But their values about living, marriage, and commitment are good for us.

The best guidance for our lives can be found in God’s Word.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for letting me to grow up in a conservative family. I’m thankful for my parents to guide me with their value system. This shapes my value system and the decisions that I make. As I think back of my parents’ disciplines, now I’m thankful for it.
