How many times are we motivated and/or driven by guilt?
Guilt is the most motivating factor for people to do good.
We need to identify true guilt and false guilt.
True guilt leads to repentance.
False guilt is lack of self-acceptance and believe not accepted by God.
Luke 3:7-9 (KJV)
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Luke 5:31-32 (KJV)
And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
2 Corinthians 7:9-11 (KJV)
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Oxford advanced learner’s dictionary explains guilt very clearly. Guilt is the unhappy feelings caused by knowing or thinking that you have something wrong. Focus on Family explains the differences between true and false guilt. Their articles can be found http://www.focusonthefamily.com/lifechallenges/emotional_health/living_without_constant_guilt/healthy_guilt_vs_false_and_harmful_guilt.aspx and at http://www.focusonthefamily.com/lifechallenges/emotional_health/living_without_constant_guilt/the_origins_of_false_guilt.aspx.
Guilt will enter when we continually sin.
Sin against God and people.
Is guilt good for us?
Will guilt wears us down?
There is two sides of it.
Guilt can paralyse us and knock us down.
Guilt can point to us what is wrong with our motivations and actions.
Therefore, we can correct ourselves through God’s help and strength.
Lord Jesus Christ can help us if we are willing to put our effort as well.
Hebrews 10:1-3 (KJV)
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Hebrews 10:21-23 (KJV)
And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)

Romans 3:18-20 (NLT)
“They have no fear of God at all.” Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

According to advanced learner’s dictionary, gush means to a large amount of liquid suddenly and quickly flowing or pouring out of something; a sudden strong expression of feeling. Guilt is a very strong sense that humans go through when they have sinned. When the word ‘gush’ came to me, the flowed words seems true to me and reminded me of the Scriptures.
