Do Wives Need to Work?

Posted on

This may pose a different light of the Bible to everyone. The question of women having career and work always intimidate the wives especially mothers. Even though it is wonderful to be with our children at home, I realize another element of the Bible often are laid aside. Proverbs 31, which is the Old Testament. May this impart wisdom to the women, soon to be wives and even mothers.

Do you believe in taking care of your parents financially and physically during their old age? My friends’ and my mothers are good examples and inspirations to my friends, siblings and I. Having enough money can

  1. Contribute to the house loan;
  2. Care our parents financially;
  3. Secondary income in case of husband unemployment.
  4. Touch wood in case husband passes away due to accident or sickness. Therefore, we need to pray for our husbands’ well being and protection. Our younger days were filled with the reality of the pangs of desperation. We have been observing the struggling widows making their ends meet to feed their children. Our parents discuss about the widows’ lifelong journey and succeed to care their children. This is a good news.

Then we can feed the children and provide them with good education to increase their employability skills.

Everyone, please read the Bible clearly who are at risk. The widows and the orphans. Does it mean the grown up children do not need to take care of our old aged parents who take care of us with love to grown ups? Remember who strengthen our feeble hands and legs during our younger days.

Some of my friends and my mothers work. When our dads are having a hard time to earn the money, our mothers use their money to provide for the family and continue our education. They can still help the poor who are in need. So that the poor can stand up and help others.

Does it mean wives no need to work? Please read and digest Proverbs 31 and share your feedback on this issue. I know this is the harsh facts of life I am sharing throughout my friends’ and my lives. It is the reality of life and we see God’s goodness and providence though we receive Christ in our late teens.

Many women of faith love to quote that earning money is the husbands’ responsibilities whereas house is the the wives’ responsibilities. Does this exempt them from helping financially? However, the book of proverbs 31 and my mother’s life inspire me. My bunch of friends have similar predicament too. Our mothers enable to continue our education from college to bachelor honours when our dads were going through financial difficulties. Our parents believe to equip us with the fishing rod instead of giving us the fishes. Their best efforts and fishes are spent to strengthen the feeble new generation. We thank The Lord for our parents and strive to be a blessings and inspire others. God bless you all for reading my poetry to minister.

Bloodshed & Bloodbath

Posted on

Bloodbath on the land
The effect of war
Between two kings and/or presidents.
Shedding blood
For country issues.
Possessing other country
Protecting own country.

Bloodbath on the street
The effect of gang fights and gunfights
Between two leaders
Shedding blood
For territorial issues.
Possessing other territory
Protecting own land.

Bloodbath at the corner
The effects of catfights
Between two cats
Shedding blood
For territorial issues.
Possessing other territory
Protecting own land.

Bloodbath at houses
The effects of fights
Between two people
Shedding blood
For justice
For own family, friends, loved ones, assets and/or wealth.
Possessing those
Protecting those.

All in the name of
Possessions
And
Protections.

The sight of bloodbath on land between two countries appeared in my mind. The war TV drama that I ever watched before is producing fruits of poetry.

Fear in Darkness

Posted on

Darkness shrouds the entire house
Rooms are shrouded with darkness
Dark clouds above the roof
Gradually, the dark clouds pour forth drops of water
Cold wind blows the ring tied at window
A sharp flashes of lightning make its appearance!
Thunderous sound blasts through the window!

Sense of chill runs through the spine
Strands of hair stands up
Jolting out of his bed,
Shrieking in fear,
Trembling in fear,
Gasping for hug,
Comfort from
Fear.

Being hugged,
On my shoulders,
Patting on his back.
Sense the warmth.
Warming his heart,
Expelling his fear,
In my presence.

During dark times,
We find
warmth, comfort and peace
of heart
Through God’s loving presence in Jesus Christ
Through the Holy Spirit
Jesus blesses upon us.

It was going to rain and I observed my house was getting darker. Besides of depicting the sense of eeriness that causes my son to fear thunder and lightning process, how much more blessed for Christians to find comfort in God’s loving presence (Romans 5:4-6 and 2 Timothy 1:13-15).

Go Go Go

Go, go, go!
Go, go, go!
Pointing shoes
Pointing trolley
Pointing out of the house

I want to go out.
Go, go, go!
I want to goooo out!
Out, out, out!

Out of the house
To see unknown places
Let’s go out.
Bring me out.

As I observed my toddler’s daily activities who often uses pointing to express his thoughts to me, the above first paragraph was given birth. When my baby was riding on the Barney children’s ride, he amused himself by saying all sorts of sounds until the word “Go” came out of his mouth repeated many times, it inspires me.

How much more we shouldn’t be complacent in our walk with God. We need to go to find challenges for our faith to grow in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Where is the Safest Place?

Posted on

If the house is built on the ground, may have earthquake.
If the house is near the valley, may have volcanic eruption.
If the house is in boat, may have seaquake.
If the house is in the aeroplane, may have violent storm in the sky.

Where is the best place to stay?
Where is the safest place to stay?
None is safe.
This shows
Our vulnerabilities
Our weakness
Our limitations
How small we are.

We can only put our trust in the Living God, the Creator of all.
