Think Before Suicide

Posted on

Though suicide is a self destruction form, indirectly it brings hurts to our loved ones. The Suicide Fish* mainly is the decision of a fish who loses his hope and will to live. Suicide seems to be the best solution to the problems we face in everyday lives. Refusing to acknowledge the truth causes self-denial leading to self rejection. Probably, we misunderstand the concern from our loved ones. They either speak the truth harshly or gently with a certain body language. Misinterpretation is similar to filter. As the air carries their words into our ears, we miss out some words. Losing the connected words causes the head and tail to become the conclusion.

Speaking to younger children is a challenge to the adults. Many adults complain their kids’ misbehaviour and lack of obedience. Throughout my experience, I realized my son tends to capture the last words and acts it out. “Don’t jump!” He will jump.

Conversation between my friend’s mother and helper is another good case of misinterpretation. The helper ever mentioned to her that she (helper) wanted to have four children whereas her friend has six children. She said the same thing to my mother in the next couple of days. When my mother commented my helper wants to have six children, I don’t believe. After I check out their conversations, I explain to my astonished mother.

Whenever I am going to attend workshops, voice recorder is the first thing I often grab on. When I listen to it again, I realised the in-between missing words.

Let’s take this article’s title as an example. “Think before suicide” is the theme of my topic. For example, “before” is the lost word to the recipient’s ears. So it will sound “think suicide”. Obviously, the recipients definitely will be upset and feel devalued resulting in angry person who may or may not commit suicide.

Isn’t it good to really open our ears to hear the speaker?

Think Before Suicide

Rather than, thinking suicide, why not think before suicide?

Feeling lost
Fatigue sets in
Setbacks in life
Lost in problem solving?

Spend time with family and pets
Do housework
Cleaning
Tidying
Washing
Wiping
Sweep and Mop the floor
Vacuuming

Walk out of the house
Left the nest temporarily
To enjoy a breezing wind
Looking up to the vast sky
Changing in colour and weather
Birds fly and chirp around
Observing the streets and crowds
Children walk with their families
Playing children on the open green lush
Take note of every small details
Spend time with relatives and friends

All these may instil
A spark of ideas into thoughts
Singing hearts and minds
Creative idea to express in
Beautiful words
Innovative solutions
Composing melodious music and songs
Composing pictures and paintings

Open up to imagination, impossibilities and beauty
Sensing the joy of living
Marvelling at the grandeur creation
Worshipping the Creator of the whole universe and galaxy
Praising His marvellous creative hands
Alive in His great mercy
Daily lives are more enjoyable
Creativity encircles our daily lives

A sudden challenge of idea to define the lost, “Labouring Only” came. Surprisingly, 14 minutes later, “Living Only Self Theme” knocked to my head as I revisited this again. But the remaining words for the first phrase struck my mind.

Inspiration On: Friday, 16 November 2012 at 11:01am

During my public transport journey, my concentration was poured onto sketch book until my mobile phone triggered SMS tone. Due to that, “lost in thoughts” came out of nowhere and suddenly the abbreviation came “lit”. Then it dawned upon me questioning, “How many times do we every lost in our thoughts about God?”

Among All

Posted on

Among all crowds
Among all the things in the world
Where can I find?
Where can I find the things?
The tasks that will give me a sense of purpose
Where?

Life is so unpredictable
I’m running around aimlessly
Im lost in so many never ending tasks
I do not know what to so

In my heart, I am hoping
Hoping Someone to tell me the way
Hoping Someone to tell me what to do
Hoping Someone to speak to me

Only in You, O Lord
You are my hope
Not just hope
You are also my strength
You are my confidant
Guide me, O Lord

As I close my eyes to go to sleep. I see crowds. Suddenly, “among all” resonates and so the above are the birth of my feelings and expressions.

Japanese Movie “Nada Sô Sô” (2006)

Yotaro lived sacrificially for his sister’s sake in order to keep his promise to his beloved mum before her deathbed, but he also work hard to earn income to fulfil his dream to open a restaurant.

On the day to open his dream restaurant, suddenly the real land owner appeared. Then he realized that Mr. Kameoka was a swindler. This ended him with a big debt to settle. His dream was dashed.

This shows he is a gentleman, responsible, honours his words, respectful, honest, and a hardworking man.

For the sake of paying his debts, he worked hard day and night until he lost his health. Despite his fever, for the sake of protecting his sister during typhoon, he ignored it and went to her rescue and lose his life at the age of 25.

This is indeed a love in action.

Suddenly, James Chapter 2 verse 17 to 20 came to my mind, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”

The first book of Corinthians Chapter 13 verse 4 to 7 speaks about love, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

My mind starts to wonder,
Is this what a disciple of Christ supposed to do?

James 2:17-20 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

So the moral of the story is love in action.
