Produce & Gratitude

Posted on

Producing is an extremely time consuming process
It is liken to sow a seed
Gradually, the trees grow
Gradually, a bud of flowers grow
Gradually, the flowers blossom
Gradually, fruits come out of it
Gradually, flowers tween to fruits
Gradually, fruits are ripe
Result is liken to the harvest season

The reaper enjoys the harvest
The reaper enjoys the fruit
Within few seconds, the fruit is gone

Through years of life experiences
Books, films, and many other things are birthed and produced to fruition.

The readers, audiences and users enjoy the sowers’ fruits of labour.

Another time consuming process is the art of cooking
Numerous hours are spent at the kitchen
But the served-food is savoured and finished within a few minutes.

Gratitude is necessary in the recipients’ hearts.
Gratitude should be in humans’ hearts for God’s creation, which provides the raw ingredients.

As I was pondering how books, animations, films, paintings and illustrations, cooking, drawers, televisions, light bulbs, refrigerators, cars, household, electrical, mechanical, stationeries, and many other things.

The founders went through many trials and hardship in the research and development with numerous failures and few successful milestones which are remembered until today. New founders develop their potential through the old founders’ fruits of labour. Basically, without the old ideas, it is impossibility for new ideas to be developed.

Our ideas are found through the bountiful beautiful natural resources which humans tend to take it for granted. We are given the responsibility to care the earth for our own good (Genesis 2-3).

Cinema & TV

Just depending on the movie review
Oh we are
Like sheep being led to a cinema hall
Not knowing how the story goes
How funny the story is
How tragic the story is
How frightful the story is
How obscene the story is
How many messages the visual story conveys.
Different people interpret differently
Different people receive different messages.

How important it is to filter which movie to watch
How essential it is to determine the beneficial of watching
How influential watching the movie we choose
Though permissible, but not beneficial

Choose and decide.
The choice is ours.

Upon observation how the movie reviews are written and my husband’s dependence upon it to determine which one to watch and how curious I am before to go to the cinema alone during my teens, especially the horror movie “The Ring” to check out how scary is the visual story. This is because a lot of people commented it is a very frightful movie. That time was before I receive Christ. And I enjoyed watching horror movies and often got nightmare. Upon receiving Christ, a brother in Christ kindly questioned me, “Why do you want to scare yourself?” Those words stick in my mind for quite long and finally I choose and decide not to watch.

Upon fasting and avoiding horror movies, nightmare full of scary things and beings slowly diminish. Now, I don’t enjoy watching such movies. Upon reminiscing such things, I praise God and thankful for that brother in Christ. This reminds me of the Apostle Paul mentioning that everything is permissible, but not beneficial (1 Corinthians 6:11-13 and 1 Corinthians 10:22-24).

The reason I’m using sheep as an analogy is inspired from Isaiah 53:5-7 and its characteristics. Humans’ similarity towards it that is susceptible to danger especially spiritual and physical danger. We need a shepherd to guide us. That Shepherd is Christ.

Hooked

Being hooked into a story
No matter it is movie, novel, comic
Hard to break it away
Unwilling to put it down especially during
Its most intriguing intense moment
Various mixed feelings are going through inside
Joy, sadness, anger, pity, relief
As the story ends by flipping to
The last page or scene.

When will we be hooked?
Hooked into the Bible seeking Almighty God
Seeking Him and His face
In hearts, minds, and through our actions
Expressing our love to Him

Movie consists of many crews
Computer consists of numerous parts
A body consists of many organs and parts

Lack of one crew, the movie cease to completion and perfection
Failure of one component, the whole computer system is down
Likewise, when failure of an organ in the body, the whole body weakens

We are not to live in isolation.
We are not to live alone.

Study Adam.
God creates Eve to accompany Adam to till the land He entrusts to.
God creates Eve to give Adam a family.

No Eve
No baby
No family
A man lives in isolation in the world God creates.

No Adam
No baby
No family
A woman lives in isolation as well.

Have a baby
Heart feels young again

1 Corinthians 12 (KJV) “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”

Ephesians 4:10-12 (KJV), “He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

Japanese Movie “Nada Sô Sô” (2006)

Yotaro lived sacrificially for his sister’s sake in order to keep his promise to his beloved mum before her deathbed, but he also work hard to earn income to fulfil his dream to open a restaurant.

On the day to open his dream restaurant, suddenly the real land owner appeared. Then he realized that Mr. Kameoka was a swindler. This ended him with a big debt to settle. His dream was dashed.

This shows he is a gentleman, responsible, honours his words, respectful, honest, and a hardworking man.

For the sake of paying his debts, he worked hard day and night until he lost his health. Despite his fever, for the sake of protecting his sister during typhoon, he ignored it and went to her rescue and lose his life at the age of 25.

This is indeed a love in action.

Suddenly, James Chapter 2 verse 17 to 20 came to my mind, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”

The first book of Corinthians Chapter 13 verse 4 to 7 speaks about love, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

My mind starts to wonder,
Is this what a disciple of Christ supposed to do?

James 2:17-20 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

So the moral of the story is love in action.
