Mysterious aura fills the Creator of this universe. Then I realized its acronym by reversing it. Thanks for reading my poetry and hope this poetry minister and bless you.

Ton

Ton

Dark sky instil fears in mankind
Old and young folks fear these
Due to wickedness are rampant
For wickedness fear their deeds
Seen in the light
Pricking their taxing smeared consciences

I do wonder about the night terror of going out. Rape, robbery, and many other wickedness are done in the night. Suddenly, it produced acronym Ton. According to the free dictionary, ton means

  1. A unit of weight equal to 2,000 pounds (0.907 metric ton or 907.18 kilograms). Also called net ton, short ton.
  2. A unit of weight equal to 2,240 pounds (1.016 metric tons or 1,016.05 kilograms). Also called long ton.
  3. A metric ton.
  4. A unit of capacity for cargo in maritime shipping, normally estimated at 40 cubic feet.
  5. A unit of internal capacity of a ship equal to 100 cubic feet.
  6. A unit for measuring the displacement of ships, equal to 35 cubic feet, and supposed to equal the volume taken by a long ton of seawater.
  7. Informal
    • A large extent, amount, or number. Often used in the plural
    • Used adverbially with a or in the plural to mean “to a great degree or extent” or “frequently”.

Tip

Does having internet solve communication problem?
Does Internet rob us from enjoying each other’s presence?
Does the Lord delight to communicate with us via Internet?
Aren’t enjoying each other’s presence is the best?
Communicate via email is devoid of talking in person
How much more revel in God’s presence brings peace to our empty hearts
Revel in His presence through day and night

Though I text message my friends, I missed the times of talking in person with them. Suddenly, those three words jumped at me producing the acronym of TIP. According to the free dictionary, the noun tip means

  1. The end of a pointed or projecting object.
  2. A piece or an attachment, such as a cap or ferrule, meant to be fitted to the end of something else: the barbed tip of a harpoon.

So tip signifies our need of one another. We are not living in isolation.

Night

As the night envelops the whole city
Stars are shining brightly in the sky
The windows’ lights are dimmed
All breathe are hibernating on their bed
Babies are resting and sleeping peacefully

A peaceful night
An enjoyable time
No disturbance
Quietness
Be still
Stillness
In heart

Inspirations of pictures come
Inspirations of words come
Inspirations of stories come
Answers to my problems come
Oh, finally I hear a gentle whisper
A whisper of comfort

As I was putting my inspiration into actions and wondering of my sleepless night, the above inspiration was birthed out. Furthermore, when my quiet time was at night and my heart was troubled, “Be still” and the verses from Psalm 46:9-11 sometimes spoke to me and I feel comforted.

Sounds At Night

Posted on

Breathing sound from the toddler
Snoring from my spouse’s nostril and throat
Little hum from air conditioner
Rearing vehicles roaming outside the window pane
Chirping birds return to nests

Tick sound from the television
As it loosens its grip of contraction
Again the noise from sleepers
Gritting of teeth coming our from spouse
Springing from tossing on mattress
Gentle knock from his hands and legs
Followed by his farting and smelly

As I turn my head
Toddler’s hand knocks against the cot’s side
Awhile later, his feet hit
Then deep inhaling snore from his breathe
Tossing over the cot numerously

Impossible without having those sounds
So what can be done to sleep?
All I can think of
Is to close eyes, praying to God
After clock ticks for long
Slowly, I begin to see things with
Eyes closed having those sounds
Begin to fade away from my ears
Flying and drifting into dreamland

I’m a person who can sleep when the room is quiet. As I lied on my bed and trying to sleep, the observing the room atmosphere again birthed the above haiku inspiration. And then I realised that God is the One who can help me.

In the dark of the night

In the dark of the night
A dim light is seen
The hope I need
As I approach it
The light is getting brighter
Then Someone extends His hand to me
As I lift my face
I see a Face glimmers with Love and Hope
He is the hope I need.

All along, I had been
Keeping to myself
Shutting myself from the outside world
Staying at a dark corner
Unexpectedly, Someone extends His hand to me
He is my Lord and Saviour

In the dark of the night
I’m no longer sad
A bright Light is guiding me
Always with me
My heart is filled with love, strength and hope.

Reminiscing my days without Christ and how I experience His love causing me to accept Him as my Lord and Saviour and strengthens me to go through the dark phase of my life. It is the most difficult times that I had encounter and losing the will to live.

Dark of the Night

Posted on

In the dark of the night
My soul ponders
Ponders about life
Life’s uncertainties
Uncertain about what the future hold.
Holding onto something tangible

But there is more than life
More than what is seen.
Faith, hope, and love are what
I need most in this life.

What can I do in the midst of my busyness?
Now is night
In the dark of the night
All I can do is to
Attune my soul with
The Lord on High
Seeking His will
Seeking His face
Seeking His approval
Seeking His favour
Seeking His love
Seeking His voice and guidance
Seeking His strength
Seeking His wisdom
Seeking His protection
Hoping in Him
To enable me to finish
My life well.

Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun. When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:) Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. Ecclesiastes 8:15-17 (KJV)

The above scripture resonates in my heart as I go through everyday life busy with my baby, tidying house, spending time with my family and even catching up with my friends. Seems that everyday is always busy.

Nowadays, the source of my inspiration comes from the book of Psalms where the Psalmist hope in God and in His Word during the night, which can be seen from Psalm 119:147-149 (CEB), “I meet the predawn light and cry for help. I wait for your promise. My eyes encounter each hour of the night as I think about your word. Listen to my voice, according to your faithful love. LORD, make me live again, according to your justice.”
