Sip

As we sleep peacefully
Enjoying our sleep
Knowing God is the One
The One who let us to dwell in safety.
Rest in Him after our labour for Him.

Psalm 4:7-8 (NIV)
Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Out of a sudden, “sleep in peace” makes the acronym of SIP. As I check dip from the dictionary, sip means to drink a little at a time; to take in; absorb. Then Psalm 4:8 echoed in my mind.

Our Creator is a God full of loving kindness.

Psalm 103:7-9 (KJV)
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

Psalm 145:7-9 (KJV)
They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

Joel 2:12-14 (KJV)
Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?

Jonah 4:2 (KJV)
And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.

Nahum 1:2-4 (KJV)
God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

Being banished from the garden of Eden and being away from God,
Insecurity entered into the hearts of Adam and Eve.
Insecurity is inherited into their seeds.
Receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour,
Acceptance and security enter into our hearts.

Psalm 16:8-10 (NIV)
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.

Psalm 18:31-33 (NIV)
For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights.

Proverbs 10:8-10 (NIV)
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin. Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Whoever winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin.

Proverbs 14:25-27 (NIV)
A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful. whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.

Loss

Is sleeping soundly good for the just?
Does the wicked has sleeping difficulty?
Not all who have insomnia are wicked.
Losing someone dear to us is extremely painful.
Losing our pathways is detrimental.
Losing Truth from heart is damaging.
Losing the Lord is estrangement.
Don’t lose Lord Jesus Christ in us!

Psalms 4:8 [KJV]
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for Thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Psalms 127:2 [KJV]
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He giveth His beloved sleep.

Proverbs 3:24 [KJV]
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Proverbs 4:14-27 [KJV]
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just
is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. My son, attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Staggering heart turns to Stable heart
Struggling hands turns to Strong hands
Striving mind turns to persevering mind
Surviving spirit turns to living spirit
Soul is bounded, but is freed.
Attempting to live life to the fullest.
I’m learning to live life to the fullest.
“Indeed, life is lived to the full.” That’s what I heard.
Through His strength upon us.
As He walk with me through the dark valleys,
Valleys of the shadows of death.
My heart feels peace with His presence.

I was contemplating of life’s difficulties. Seems that there is a cycle of life phases that most people have to go through. And I keep trusting God to see me through. Many testimonies testify of God’s goodness and faithfulness upon their lives. Furthermore, I am inspired from Psalms 23.
