Third curvy plywood
Except books on the
Bottom straight wood are intact

Large

Heavy
Piling stones of burdens
On our shoulders
Eventually
Wear us down

Pressure of life
On our shoulders
Eventually
Wear us down

Eventually
Cause mental breakdown
Losing hope to live
Death seems feasible solution

Stop!
Stop thinking of

Suddenly, a loud thud caught my parents’ and my attention. The uppermost bookshelf fell hard onto the second level. Second level affects the third, but leaves the lowest unscathed. Oh! This stressed me out. I just applied for another job because my current job isn’t enough for my food expenses. Somehow, this incident speaks to me about the heavy burdens mankind carry on their shoulders.

This poetry began with, “hazy” and “surge”. Gradually, as the haze was increasing and came out of the news, more inspirations flowed out. Then I was reminded of Proverbs 28:10 where its context is between verse 9 to 11 speaking, “If anyone turns a deaf ear to My instruction, even their prayers are detestable. Whoever leads the upright along an evil path will fall into their own trap, but the blameless will receive a good inheritance. The rich are wise in their own eyes; one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.

Ego

Ego

Ego

Is ego or pride stopping us from reaching out to God?
Is ego or pride blinding us to the Truth?
Is ego or pride covering our eyes to see the world’s brokenness?
Is ego or pride covering our eyes to see our own frailty?
Is ego or pride preventing us from reflecting upon our motivations?
So can’t we push our ego aside?

In dictionary, ego means
1. the “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, and willing, and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought.
2. Psychoanalysis . the part of the psychic apparatus that experiences and reacts to the outside world and thus mediates between the primitive drives of the id and the demands of the social and physical environment.
3. egotism; conceit; self-importance: Her ego becomes more unbearable each day.
4. self-esteem or self-image; feelings: Your criticism wounded his ego.
5. (often initial capital letter) Philosophy

  • the enduring and conscious element that knows experience.
  • Scholasticism. the complete person comprising both body and soul.

Albert Einstein did mention,
“More the knowledge
Lesser the ego,
Lesser the knowledge
More the Ego”

Basically, ego means “I” is more important and what is inside will come out. Some people will tend to praise themselves and look down upon people by finding their faults. Until to the point that I can’t stand them and telling a friend to try to look at people’s goodness side. Nobody is perfect.

Blaming Game

Life is full of uncertainties
Life is never fair

Everyone has their own stories and background
Some goes through difficult paths
Some have a blessed life
Some are born in a rich family
Some are born in a mediocre family
Some are born in a poor family
Some are born out of wedlock

We can not choose our own family

This world is full of blaming game
This world is full of blaming cycle
A cycle that is always repeated.
A never ending cycle.
Ever since the time of Adam and Eve.
Should we continue blaming?

No.
Stop the blaming.
Instead, we need to be responsible of our own actions.

These words suddenly speak into my heart like there is an inner voice of my observation about life. So I quickly write it down to my paper. In the beginning of creation, Adam blamed Eve for eating the forbidden fruit and Eve blamed the serpent. (Genesis 3) Absalom blamed King David as an excuse of his revenge to kill Amnon and to usurp the throne. (2 Samuel 13-18).

A Picky Husband

Posted on
A wife seldom cooks food with oil due to her concern to eat healthily. So also seldom cook fried food. A dish of steamed tofu, steamed fish, and even baked prawn without greasing oil. Everyday, she drinks a cup of low-fat with high-calcium milk.
She is quite an opposite of her husband who loves to eat tasty food without considering whether the ingredients will affect his well-being. He hates milk and refuses to take vitamin pills. Her son states that her mum cooking deteriorates. All day, he comments the food’s taste is not salty enough and even not sour enough. Finally, he participates in the kitchen preparation. He remarks that in order to make a tasteful and refined dish, there is no need to bother whether the consumed food is harmful for the body. He even laughs her for always drinking milk, but his body is stronger than her though he smokes.
One day, his sore throat worsens a lot until he is scared causing him to stop smoking. Around one month later, he doesn’t feel well and decides to take a full body medical check up. He brings his wife along to do the same as him. One week later, the report shows his bone calcium is lacking and mild high blood pressure. It is quite a contrast with his wife whose bone calcium is high and her hereditary diabetes is under control. Ultimately, he forces himself to gulp vitamins and sometimes milk.
The moral of the story is
Stop criticising people.
Listen to advises.
Reflect your own words and actions before criticising others.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath
                                                                                                                  (James 1:19 KJV)
