I attend a night service. The preacher shares about the importance of prayer through the power of the Holy Spirit. Altar call welcomes everyone to receive God’s help and blessing. Thus I respond to the altar call for God’s help in my life. In my heart, I ask the Lord for forgiveness upon me. Someone doctored my resume so that the government can give me grant. The course teacher mentioned his company needs help. I respond that I would like to be part of the project. However, after I attend the 3 days course, he forgets his promise. I don’t want to get into trouble with the law. I ask the Lord for discernment and wisdom. I will not believe into people’s empty promises of job opportunities. This happened outside of Japan.

The above acrostic poetry is birthed from reading the book ‘Never Eat Alone’ written by Keuth Ferrazi & Tahl Raz. Throughout reading the book, I still believe in the word of God to love God is to love others. The most important is to love Him first being rooted in His Word and grow in Him. Then we can serve others in their needs, interests and passion.

Throughout my experiences, I was given the things I don’t need. Therefore, I come to the conclusion to bless others by understanding their needs, interests and passions. I am thankful of my spiritual mentor to equip me with the Word of God. Upon knowing she would like to have Bible in King James Version, I carefully chose a compact yet medium font of a King James Version Bible. Out of gratitude, I surprised her with it. She is so delighted. I feel so delighted with her satisfied expression. I thank the Lord to enable me to observe her needs before I bless her with a present. I like the character of my mentor who is not ashamed to share her flaw to me. She understands I am so upset with my own flaws.

Upon hearing such matter from Yori, I was shocked and curious of the book. Upon hearing the stated words, I also have the same disagreements as Yori. This sparked an inspiration in me birthing the above poetry. Any artists reading this, please hear my questions. Please consider the professions of maids, waiters, waitresses, promoters, doctors, nurses, scientists, administrative, secretaries, and other finance industries. Those without experiences will get paid for their full time internships then turns into permanent positions. But why exploit the new emerging artists and even freelancers to do the required arts job? Are arts industries considered nothing? Just preys to exploit?

I realized that I’m in a difficult period of my life phase in mental and financial issues. The news of widows in financial dire scared me off. The current job I did doesn’t pay much. It will not be enough per month if my husband loses his job. Though his pay isn’t that high, it is still enough to pay for our daily expenses. Everyday, I bring it to prayer with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). But I’m still struggling in my ministry, family and work commitments. I begin to wonder do I set own expectations too high.
