In this digital age era, we are in need of God more to exercise and to live in God’s grace and mercy. Most of us can identify with many voices stated in Grace Paced Living in a burnout culture and are stuck in it. Let us rest in God’s grace through Jesus to perform our daily job in our lives. 

Prayer

Heavenly Father, many times we have fallen short from your grace. O Lord, enable us to perform our job as unto You and bless us on the job that You assign to us. Then grant us the rest and peace from our labour. In Jesus’ name I ask. Amen.

This acrostic idea came when I shredding paper. Since SP didn’t give any meaning, inserting “i” seemed suitable letter candidate than “a”. Sip gives the meaning of drinking and dwelling in Christ’s strength and protection. According to the free online dictionary, sip means
1. To drink in small quantities
2. A small quantity of liquid sipped

The inspiration came when I observe someone who didn’t read the Bible. The picture in my imagination came resulting to the above inspirations. But upon reaching the alphabet E onwards, I was stuck in words. On 24th March, the inspiration flowed out and stopped at J. On 27 March, “justify” seems perfect for J and reach to U. Next day, the words flowed until X and completed the last alphabet.

The reason to named this abecedarian poetry ‘A Dusty Book’ is due to various meaning. I observe some people have a Bible, but they didn’t read. Another reason is some choose not to let the Bible takes effect in their hearts, minds, attitudes, and actions.

Work Of My Hands

May Thy beauty
May Thy love
May Thy work
May Thy grace
May Thy mercy
May Thy loving kindness
May Thy goodness
Be seen
Be observed
Be clear
In the sight of the world

“Work of my hands,” are the beginning words in my mind. When I read today’s Scripture, I am enthralled by Psalm 90:12-17, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning Thy servants. O satisfy us early with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish Thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.”

“Mesmerized in love” came to my mind as I was thinking people who are falling in love. Then it dawned upon me how much more we as Christians need to be mesmerized in God’s loving kindness for His saving grace.

In painting and/or even photography, reality is depicted in a frame.
In olden days, art is much more profound when you enter the Catholic Church buildings.
Arts are used to visually explain of God’s redemption for the fallen mankind.
God’s love for us who are created in His image though we fall.

While I was accompanying my son to watch children’s animation, I feel challenged to define ‘art’. Animation, photography, film, paintings, dance, singing, music, etc are considered art. Even animations for adults and teenagers are also arts.

Dark Dungeon

Deep in the remote mountainous forest
A worn down dark dungeon is seen
It is used for locking the prisoners

In every dark cubicle prison in the creepy dark dungeon
Out of the window bar hears
Howling wolves across the mountain
Gawking, cawing crows resting on the trees
Hissing rattling snakes on the grasses
Snarling bears growl upon its preys

In the dark dungeon
Screeching door bar opens to give food
Squealing rats running across the sandy floor

During foggy days
Writhing in pain longing for fresh air
Prisoners are gasping for breath

Darkness envelopes the heart, soul, and mind of the prisoner
Dread clouds the heart, soul, and mind
Deep down inside is gripped by anxiety
Shuddering with the notions of death
Mind churns with uncountable worries
Whole being are engulfed with fear
Fingernails scratch the unsmooth wall
Insecurity spurs and creeps into the heart
Helpless of owns situation
Hoping for help
But some love the darkness

Suddenly noticing an immense bright Light
Shining through the tiny window
Staring outside the tiny window
Hand stretches out of the window bar
Hoping to embrace the Light
Hoping for the Light to fill the whole room
Hoping for the Light to fill the sullen and crushed spirit

As soon as the sunrise
Imminent light shines into the tiny window bar
Providing warmth to the prisoners
The warmth through God’s grace and mercy
Grace and mercy through faith in Lord Jesus Christ.

The above photo is taken on Saturday inside my bathroom experimenting what will happen if I did so. Finally, a contrast picture was produced.

Whenever I saw the first successful lomography photo onto the Fujifilm Instax Mini, my heart is filled with gratitude to God for blessing me with the determination to persevere even though i had failed for twelve attempts. I feel encouraged and sudden words of inspiration came upon me.

Imagining living in a locked dark dungeon without light is a devastating sense. After the commencement of the inspiration day, daily sentence(s) cropped out of my visual interpretations of those who live in darkness. Some are seeking light and hope, but some choose the life of darkness and hated to live in the light. (John 1:1-15)

While playing flags with my 25 months old toddler near the window, suddenly an inspiration came to me to label a flag “Here am I, I am here” out of the window to inform my future friends who are coming to my flat for cell group meeting. Oh I wish to host cell group meeting at my home.

Afterwards, more cries came upon me – he pressures of life in family, relationships, and even work. Feeling stuck with numerous tasks at hand reminded me of stuck in the swamp and attempted to rise out of it. But it is a futile attempt when the swamp is swallowing your body. You need a Saviour to save you by pulling you out of it.

The scripture from Isaiah 6:8 “Here am I; send me” also partly inspires the above songs. Though the context of the Scripture is Isaiah’s willingness to listen to God’s calling as a prophet, the above song is to call upon God to save the souls who are crying desperately to Him and embrace God’s salvation through Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
