Drip!
Bird’s pie drops
Onto the floor
In front of me

Drip!
Bird’s pie drops
Onto my
Transparent umbrella

Drop!
A ripe fruit
Drops but Hits
Onto my head
End its destination
On the pedestrian footpath

Life is full of
Unpredictable events
For us to
Decide and Choose
Either Good or Bad fertilizers
Insert into our
Lives
Insert into our
Innermost minds and hearts

Creeping inside before it is
Ripe and blooms
Beware the root grows inside

Looking for white hair strands amongst black hair strands
Searching for good people amongst evil people

Searching for cleanliness in the midst of dirtiness
All these are common traits in us

Is it difficult for us to
See good traits in others rather than their bad traits?

Pursuing peace after quarrel subsides?
Is it hard?

My 39 months son pulled a strand of his dad’s white hair. Next day, he was looking for it but gave up due to too much white hair among the black hair. He was worried to pluck the black and the white hair at the same time. Upon observing this scene, this birthed out this poetry.

Upon writing this, I realized why people tend to take advantage of me. I talk too much of my weaknesses instead of my strengths. But I found my strengths from my good friends and friends. My weaknesses seem too clear for me without realizing others. No wonder I have low self confidence. Even though with my low self confidence, I find strength in Christ and to persevere. Gradually, my hard work pays off when I see my improvements. God bless you all for reading my poetry to minister.

Being in the bathroom is my favourite part of the day. It is when ideas and inspirations pop out such as images of poetry and stories. This time, “Groping in darkness Or Brisk in the light” popped out. Words flowed out upon revisiting it for two days being reminded of Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV), “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

During my observation and analysis of people’s minds and thinking, the above poetry flowed out gradually. Recently, I met a two headed snake person. After getting to know her for five years, I begin to see her true colours. At first, I can’t believe she is that type of person. Feeling pity towards her due to her broken marriage. Her face towards my parents and siblings is of a hate. But her face seems nice to me and wants to help me out. Upon hearing the truth of her treatment towards other people and analyze it, fears and disappointments towards her reigned in me. Why would the Lord to let me meet such people? All I can do is bring this to my Lord, take precautions and pray peace upon her heart according to the prayer Jesus’ mentioned in Matthew 6.

The second stanza was inspired from Philippians 4:6-9 (KJV), “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Guilt

Guilt

Guilt

How many times are we motivated and/or driven by guilt?
Guilt is the most motivating factor for people to do good.
We need to identify true guilt and false guilt.
True guilt leads to repentance.
False guilt is lack of self-acceptance and believe not accepted by God.

Luke 3:7-9 (KJV)
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Luke 5:31-32 (KJV)
And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11 (KJV)
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

In the quietness of the night, “Trust in the Lord” from Proverbs 3 spoke to me. Proverbs 3:5-9, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.” Proverbs 3:11-13, “My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

In dictionary, till is defined as: up to the time of; until: to fight till death; before (used in negative constructions): He did not come till today. Near or at a specified time: till evening. So no matter what happens, we need to fight the good fight of faith. Life has been tough for me. Before I embarked on my professional career, my parents suggested to me to get married when my heart is not prepared. So I listened. Nine months later, my toddler is born. Feeling sad without career with my son hard to handle, I am trying to do beneficial for God’s kingdom and future career. I did cry to God and His love gives me the support to continue.

Writing Poetry & The Bible

Writing poetry is likened to
Sowing seed into the soil
Awaiting for
A tree to sprout out
And bear fruits ripe enough
To bless the hungry.
The ripe poetry is
To bless the specific audience.

The Bible is also likened to
Sowing seed into the soil
Awaiting for
A tree to sprout out
And bear fruits ripe enough
To bring smile upon God’s face.
The ripe heart is ready
To be free
And
To bless others through good works.

Playing Pointing Finger Game

To play pointing finger game

To express his curiosity and
To express his needs, feelings, and wants.

To play pointing finger game
Helps baby to understand and to get
To know himself and his
Surroundings, environments, objects better and also to
Point the location to go.

To play pointing finger game
Can solve his dilemma to express oneself
And to avoid frustration to
Express so reduces his cries and wailings.

Playing pointing finger game is
The best way to learn more of
His or her own body.

When my baby was around eight months old, I played a pointing finger game with him. I grasped his hand and use his finger to point himself by singing his name, and then point to myself to identify, “mama” to him. He is so excited and chuckled. Now, my baby is nineteen months often getting near the buttons to touch it. So this reminded me of the consequence of sin mentioned in Numbers 5:30-31; 9:12-14; 18:21-23; 30:14-16; Ezekiel 16:57-59; 23:34-36,48-49; 44:9-13.Afterwards, he often points to the aircon to signal my parents to switch it on, and points to cats and dogs on the streets to know what is its names.

In the Old Testament and New Testament, there are lots of Scriptures mentioning sowing and reaping. So whatever is taught to a child, it will bear fruit in the child because all a child do is to observe and follow what is done before his eyes. This makes me realize the importance of my heart and performance as my child’s good example. And I have been pondering about it and pray to the Lord on high to seek His wisdom in guiding the precious child He blesses me with.

Breathing in the breezing air
Sensing the cooling fresh air which comes
From the waving trees saying,
“Good morning” to the cutie.

Gulping the tasty white milk
From the milk bottle then sip water
Change clothes and it is

The time to play toys
And grasping curious objects around the surroundings
Until it is lunch time.

Hungrily munching porridge swiftly while
Enjoying every taste of vegetables and meat
Which is blended in porridge.

Waiting half an hour later
It is shower time to
Enjoy the warm bath to look sparkling
Then the next step is…

It is play time again
Then it is the time for the
Pair of adorable eyes to
Keep on blinking continuously and eyelids close
For nap time during noonday.

A pair of cute eyes
Are widely opened again gulping for food
And baby’s play time again.

As the sun goes down
The sky is all in black with
Stars shining in the sky
It is indeed a fun busy day
For baby who is blinking
To get ready to sleep and fall asleep.
and the cycle continues.

A fun busy day for
Baby to blink continuously and eyelids close.
And the cycle continues.

Society Values

Posted on
Is freedom good for the youngsters?
Saturday, 1 January 2011

Refer: Exodus 4:5-10;5:28-30;6:6-8 (KJV)

When a teenager turns to 21 year old, they are considered adult and can make his/her own decisions. I observe that nowadays the society has changed a lot from olden days.

Olden days value the sanctity of marriage and a responsible living. This also teaches the younger generation to be more responsible in their actions and decisions. No abortion. Children are being valued as a gift. Children honour and obey their parents. The grown up children provide and take good care of their old parents.

Current society starts to allow dating couple to stay together and have intimate relationship outside married. They choose not to live with their parents. All they want is to break free from the authority figures. It is regarded independent of their parents. Not just that, they feel that they can do whatever they want. No one can restrict them. This may seem trivial to most people, but it may not be the case. Virginity is not being valued anymore. This also teaches people to be irresponsible in their marriage life and take it as a game. Divorces rate are increasing. That is why there are so many broken families. Children are hurt. More of them are abandoned. Abortion is accepted. Some mothers even murder their newly born babies. Not just that, more elderly home. Old parents are abandoned by their grown up child. The grown up child only thinks for themselves, instead of caring the old.

What is the society turning into?

In Deuteronomy 5:29 “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” speaks about God’s heart. The reason of His commandments is meant for the well-being of ourselves and our future generations. Our authoritative figure who knows what is right and wrong may rebuke us when we are children, but it is meant for our own good. During young times, we feel restricted in what we do, but it is meant for our own good.

What I mean is not all conservative traditions are correct such as being superstitious. But their values about living, marriage, and commitment are good for us.

The best guidance for our lives can be found in God’s Word.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for letting me to grow up in a conservative family. I’m thankful for my parents to guide me with their value system. This shapes my value system and the decisions that I make. As I think back of my parents’ disciplines, now I’m thankful for it.

When I look into myself

Posted on

When I look into myself…
What can I find in myself?
Nothing!
Absolutely nothing!

This makes me realised
How weak I am
How vulnerable I am
How bitter I am
How miserable I am.

How useless are my good works to save myself
How useless are my actions to save myself
How useless it is to depend on myself
How useless is to depend my abilities
What can I do …?

O Lord Jesus,
Save me!
Enable me!
To worship You in spirit and in truth, and
To please You with my heart and actions.

Lord Jesus…
Lord Jesus…
Enable Your new and weak spiritual-born child

Now my good works is to
Please Your heart
Bring glory to Your name

You are the reward that I seek.
